Waterproofing is a very critical area in the entire building construction activity. It demands knowledge of a construction process, various moving members in the structure, construction joints, expansion joints, chemistry of the materials used, design factors etc.

Waterproofing cannot be achieved by merely filling visual cracks, applying some readymade chemicals here and there. This is not sufficient to stop water entering into the structure. Something more is required to be done.

METHODOLOGY

SURFACE PREPARATION

Prime the surface using Dr.Fixit torch shield primer.
Lay Dr.Fixit Torch Shield AP 4160,an APP based polyester reinforced membrane, by providing an overlap of at least 100 mm.
Place a geotextile fabric of 150 GSM over the membrane before laying the concrete screed of M-20 grade with a minimum slope of 1:100.
For extensive roof gardens. Prime the screed using Dr.Fixit Torchshield primer.
Torch-apply Dr.Fixit Torchshield AR 4160(anti – roof membrane) on the screed.
Place a drainage board as specified over the concrete screed.
Place soil for vegetation accordingly.
Drip mould to be fitted on a parapet wall to stop percolation of water from the side.

METHODOLOGY

SURFACE PREPERATION

APPLICATION

Dr.Fixit roofseal Flex is a two component product. Use slow speed mechanical mixer, add powder component slowly to the polymer and stir till smooth and homogeneous slurry, without any lumps , is achieved.
Apply Dr.Fixit roofseal Flex slurry by brush within the pot life of 40-45 minutes. Allow the first coat to dry completely for 6-8 Hrs. Before applying second coat in perpendicular direction to the first coat. Cure the coating using moist hessian cloths for 7 days.
Carry out pond test post curing of final coat and prior to covering the coating with a screed.
Place a geotextile fabric of 100 GSM /M2 over cured Dr.Fixit Roofseal Flex before laying the concrete screed of M20 grade modified with Dr.Fixit pidiproof LW+ in 1:100 slope.
After laying the screed in panels not more than 10-12 Sq.Mt. provide control joints between the panels. After curing ofscreed (28-30 days) these joints can be filled with a suitable elastomeric sealant.

SURFACE PREPERATION

APPLICATION
